It’s National Chocolate Milkshake Day!
If you’re planning on hitting the gym today, why not celebrate this holiday with a chocolate protein shake? Here are 3 of our favorite protein shake recipes for tasty (and healthy!) choco-licious pre- & post-workout fuel!
SUPER PEANUT BUTTER CUP SHAKE
Ingredients
– 1 cup skim milk
– 1 cup egg whites
– 1 TBSP peanut butter (smooth!)
– 2.5 scoops of your favorite protein powder
– 1 scoop creatine powder
– 2.5 TBSP cacao powder
– 1/2 fresh or frozen banana (optional)
– splash of sugar-free hazelnut creamer (optional)
Steps
1. In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Add ice and blend again if the shake is too thick, or if you’d simply like it colder. Serve & enjoy!
OATMEAL HEAVEN SHAKE
Ingredients
– 1 cup dry oatmeal
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– 2 scoops of your favorite protein powder
– 2.5 TBSP cacao powder
– 1 TBSP chopped almonds
– 1.5 cups low-fat milk
– drizzle of sugar-free maple syrup
Steps
1. In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Add ice and blend again if the shake is too thick, or if you’d simply like it colder. Enjoy!
THE SUPERSHAKE
Ingredients
– 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
– 1 TBSP ground flaxseeds
– 2 scoops of your favorite protein powder
– 2.5 TBSP cacao powder
– 1 cup frozen peaches
– 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
– 2 cups kale
– 1/2 frozen banana
Steps
1. In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Add more almond milk if the shake is too thick, or ice if you’d like it colder and blend again. Enjoy!
