Here’s a fun DIY for all of our favorite guys!
Beard oils are a popular product for maintaining facial hair and the skin underneath. While there are numerous beard oils on the market, making your own is easy, customizable and fun. Making beard oil is not only simple, but also make a great and (manly) gift for your favorite guys.
All you need to make your own beard oil at home are bottles, carrier oils, your favorite essential oils, and a mini funnel. When it comes to selecting your carrier oil, we like to recommend jojoba and sweet almond. You can also use coconut oil, but due to its high melting point the result is typically more of a beard balm that you can whip up a batch of and keep in a jar!
What you’ll need
Using your funnel, combine your carrier oils in your bottle. Add approximately ¼ oz of sweet almond oil with ¼ oz jojoba oil.
Carefully add 3 drops of peppermint oil, 1 drop of orange oil and 1 drop of tea tree oil.
Put the cap on your bottle and gently shake it up. To use, put a small dab on your fingers and rub into your beard.
What you’ll need
Melt your coconut oil by placing a large tablespoon in a small bowl and setting that dish into another of hot water. The heat from the water will melt your coconut oil
Carefully add in 3 drops of peppermint oil.
Place your combined oil into your jar. It will re-solidify at room temperature creating a beard balm. To use, simply rub a dab of it on your fingers – causing your body heat to melt it rub into your facial hair!
Remember you can use your favorite essential oils to customize this fun and easy DIY! How did yours turn out? Let us know in the comments!
