How-To Have A Wellness Retreat Without Leaving Your Home
Have your days been non-stop craziness? Have you said to yourself, “Ugh, I need a break!”? Do you think you’re more on edge than usual? It may be time to take a retreat. No, not a getaway retreat…one that can be done right now and at home. There’s no need to worry about the cost of traveling to some secluded center in the middle of the woods, or about the costs of accommodation. A few simple tweaks and one day of “time out” from the world will warrant you the same results. So put your wallet *and* your phone away.

To start your retreat the right way, make sure you let yourself sleep in. Don’t worry about a loud, blaring alarm clock dictating the time that you roll out of bed. Not today. Today is all about you, and you decide when to wake up.
Whenever that time ends up being, you’re going to be hungry. Treat yourself to a light breakfast and replace the standard coffee with an herbal tea. Here’s one idea of a filling, and nutritious breakfast:

Mindful Walk Outside
Want to get outside and reconnect with nature? Then a mindful walk is perfect for you! Go for a stroll in your neighborhood or the nearest park and be completely present. Look around at the trees, hear the birds chirping and make sure not to get lost in thoughts about the future.
If neither of the above fit your tune, then try a HIIT workout. It’ll only take a little while and you’ll definitely release endorphins that result in a happy feeling. Pretty good, right?
To make sure you’re held over until dinner time, make a small snack of granola and mixed berries. Also, stay hydrated and drink plenty of water.
When the evening rolls around, it’s time to resume relaxation mode. You’ll want to make a good-for-you dinner and treat yourself to a little faux spa action.
- For The Salad
- 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 ripe avocado
- Package mixed greens
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halfed
- Lime Cilantro Dressing
- 1 cup cilantro
- 1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/4 Cup Lime Juice
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- Tsp Pepper
- Small sprinkle of minced garlic
- First, grill your chicken then cut it into strips. Set aside.
- Cut your avocado into cubes.
- Wash the mixed greens and add into a large bowl.
- Place the avocado, and chicken into the bowl and gently toss.
- Spread the cilantro lime dressing on top and enjoy!

- Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth, and dressing forms.
Now before you slip into bed and have an amazing sleep from your day of restoration, here’s a quick DIY mask that smells like a portable spa (thanks to the lavender) and will leave your skin feeling smooth (shout out to the bentonite clay!).
What You Need:
+ 2 teaspoons 100% Pure Bentonite Clay Powder
+ 2 drops lavender 100% pure essential oil
+ 2 teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar W/ Mother (Organic)
How To Make:
Mix the ingredients in a small bowl and apply evenly across the face. Let sit 10-15 minutes and wash off when dry.
Take some time to reflect on how you feel from the mini retreat. Before falling asleep practice meditating for five minutes and naming three things that come to mind that cause gratitude.
