Got A Cough? Whip Together This Soothing Honey Spice Tea
Sniffle. Sneeze. Cough. The season for sickness has arrived. Nothing is less pleasant than waking up on a beautiful winter morning only to find out that your nose is stuffed, and your throat is slightly sore.
For us, the winter season has immune system red flags written all over it. Since we’re all about living our healthiest lives, this isn’t our favorite part of the year. Yet, luckily there are myriad ways to kick-start keeping your immune system in check and your throat clear. One way is with a homemade soothing Honey Spice Tea.
While Chamomile and Peppermint are two soothing blends, we’ve decided that an even better go-to this season has a mix of pleasant herbs like turmeric, echinacea, black pepper, and cinnamon. Plus, a mixture of honey and lemon, since those are our favorite natural soothers.
Why did we choose turmeric and echinacea to mix into this tea? Let us tell you.
Turmeric, a golden-hued spice, is a wellness favorite. Turmeric contains naturally occurring compounds called curcuminoids. These compounds work synergistically in your body in useful ways.
Echinacea is a pink-purple flower native to North America. It has been used for centuries in traditional wellness and makes for a soothing addition to the tea!
Together this combination helps support immune system health.
