This Is The One Thing You Should Be Doing Every A.M.
Your alarm goes off. You groan, roll to your side, and press snooze. You go back to “sleep”. The alarm goes off again. You groan again, roll to your side again, and press snooze again. Does this sound familiar? Are you a serial snoozer?
It’s okay. We get it. We’ve been there, too. Yet, pressing the snooze button is counterintuitive. Not only are you setting yourself up for the opportunity to be late, you’re also more likely to feel groggy as a result. After all, you’re playing tricks on your body. To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question. The answer, not to sleep.
The one thing you should be doing, is the one thing you should not be doing — hitting snooze. Instead, you should welcome the day, and fill the spare time you *may* have with productive things to get yourself ready for the day.
In fact, the most successful people leave themselves time to do other things in the morning, outside the routine of: brush teeth-do hair-change-eat-leave. They work out, read, take time to talk with their kids, or meditate. So, why not be one of those people?
Here’s a few things you can do to break the snooze chain, and get yourself better motivated for the day ahead.
Read A Book
Finding a good book that is hard to put down can be difficult; however, it’s the best when you do find one. In this instance, waking up early to sneak a few pages in before you rush around to get ready is exciting. Plus, you get to remove yourself from any stress that may find its way to you during the day. It closes you off from the world for a little while, and welcomes you into a world of fantasy, intrigue, or logic.

Mindfully Make Breakfast
Are you usually someone with only enough time to grab a yogurt, or something on the road? Making time in the morning means making time to cook, too. You have the chance to intake foods that will keep you full longer and energized. The one way to do this is by mindfully cooking your breakfast; listening to what your body needs, and cutting the mid-day cravings as a result.
