A Pizza Recipe That Will Leave You With No Regrets
National Pizza Day was yesterday. Did you celebrate? Did you feel greasy after? If you did, that’s understandable. After all, one of the best things about this favorite food is its gooey, cheesy topping. Yet, as good as it is in the moment, the after math isn’t always fun. RE: food coma.
So, how to change this for the next time you want to endeavor to the carb-filled cheesy dark side this year? Healthier pizza. Pizza made with pitas.
We know…Mm. While it may seem like a strange texture to build out a slice with, it tastes great. The dough can be warmed slightly up to remain chewy, or baked fully to be a crispy, thin slice. See? Versatility at its finest.
Also, the other best part about this healthy recipe? It doesn’t cost much at all. So, if you’re all for saving a couple bucks, and keeping a healthy lifestyle, then read on and grab this recipe!
- 2 Slices of Pita Bread, Halved
- 1 Cup of Marinara Sauce
- 2 Cups Shredded Cheese
- Cut the Pita Bread into halves. You should have 4 flat slices laid out.
- Place the marinara sauce on top, and smooth out. Place the cheese on top of the sauce.
- Place in the oven, pre-heated to 350 degrees. Leave in for 8-10 minutes for a warm slice. 10-15 minutes for a crispy slice.
