Feeling Blah After Feasting? Try Some Self-Care To Reinstate Your Healthy
Raise your hand if you ate your weight in turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing. If you did, you did things right. However, that one day of gluttonous joy probably left you feeling less-than-healthy.
It’s time to change that and bring a few self-care rituals to you to make you go from feeling blah to great. Besides, is there anything better than a day to yourself?
Step 1: Make Some Tea.
When you wake up in the morning, steep your favorite tea. The aroma will awaken and the warmth will soothe. Unsure about the blend? Try one of our DIY Teas that will fit perfectly into the post-holiday fix.
Step 2: Plan Out Your 3 Meals.
To ensure that recovery is entirely done, prep out meals. Make sure to incorporate vegetables, and good fats to resupply your body with needed nutrients. Here’s some options for morning-night of what to eat!
Whip together a simple eggs, toast, and avocado ordeal. Cook eggs over-easy, eat them with a side of whole wheat toast and half of an avocado. Sprinkle some Himalayan Pink Sea Salt on the eggs to restore electrolytes (if you drank a little too much wine)!
Keep things light and make a simple nut-and-dried fruit salad. In a bowl of mixed greens, throw 1/2 cup of Sliced Almonds, 1 tbsp dried fruit of choice, and top with your favorite vinaigrette.
To wrap up the day the right way, make a baked salmon dish to get some omega-3’s into your diet. Our favorite, quick recipe? A filet of salmon, lightly drizzled with olive oil, seasoned with salt, pepper, and cilantro. Baked at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Easy and delicious.
Step 3: Take A Scented Shower or Bath
Now for the best part of the detox day: a scented shower or bath, mainly anything to make you feel some spa vibes. We recommend whipping together a quick DIY Aromatherapy Melt for the shower, or adding a few drops of Detox Essential Oil into your bath.
Step 4: Shut Eye Sooner Than Later
Go to bed earlier than normal.
